The Luke Akehurst blog - The genuine Luke Akehurst weblog about politics, elections, the Labour Party and that ghastly Hackney place. Ignore counterfeit Luke Akehurst blogs - this is the genuine article from the chap who whips Hackney Labour councillors in his spare time.
Now with extra added ingredient Linda K Smith. Helps wash your family whiter!

Chipmunk Tipped For Top Job

According to today's Daily Mirror, Hazel can expect a top job after demonstrating that she can be as 100% loyal to Gordon as she was previously loyal to Tony. Such a feat - being totally loyal to two people who have been at war with each other for over six years - is a demonstration of New Labour political skills surely worthy of high office.

Mind you, I'm not sure how much I can trust the voice of the people after they published today's eviction notice: "Get Out by 2pm - Brown's Deadline to Blair to Quit No. 10". And I'm not exactly overjoyed about today's CommunicateResearch poll for The Independent, either, with its 1% Brown bounce and 5% Tory lead over Labour.

Looks like Gordon needs some PR advice in a hurry. Linda! Where's my chain mail jacket and my jodhpurs?

If Blears gets a Cabinet post, I expect to see you sitting at the table as well, either as Chancellor (using your numeracy skills) or Education (employing your literacy skills). On the other hand, you might get Govt Communications Director, on account of your brilliant spin. It's nearly 7am - I must wake up for work soon.
