Fighting threats from Stalinists and Fascists to use court injunctions and physical violence to silence free speech | The Luke Akehurst blog - The genuine Luke Akehurst weblog about politics, elections, the Labour Party and that ghastly Hackney place. Ignore counterfeit Luke Akehurst blogs - this is the genuine article from the chap who whips Hackney Labour councillors in his spare time. Now with extra added ingredient Linda K Smith. Helps wash your family whiter! "My favourite film is Dr. Strangelove, Or: How I Learnt To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb" - Luke Akehurst "Funny and clever but not particularly nice" - Time Out "With added foie gras, steak, soft cheese, claret and port (hic!)" - Luke Akehurst "In gustatus perquam putidus est" - Vatican Bank "Not so much 'Who's Who?' as 'Who's Sleeping With Whom?'" - Peter Mandelson "You can judge a blogger's politics by the colour of their blog banner" - The spoof Luke Akehurst "By a coalition of Trots, tree huggers, anarchists, Tories and a nasty little clique over-excited about my hair colour" - Luke Akehurst | |

1. | Your nominee must have been deceased for at least 10 years |
2. | They must have made an outstanding contribution to the Borough |
3. | Many current and former Hackney residents must have good cause to remember them |

I don't know who that journalist was, but he seems a bit outspoken to me. Doesn't the JC normally gloss over issues of corruption and nepotism rather than write about them?
The real question is: "Will there be a goyimnasium in every new block of yuppie flats built in Stamford Hill?
Presumably the roof extensions housing these goynasiums will now be deemed to be aesthetically pleasing and part of the Council's conservation-led strategy for regeneration.
This has to be the best link of the year. But the truth hurts. Ouch! It hurts!
But when I see your life, Cllr Akehurst, I believe in a G-d who delivers justice. Who but a just G-d could deliver to such a deserving man as you, a wife such as Linda, a real meeskite!
What about the Hackney Homes murder of a 78 year old tenant whilst decanting him????

What about the Hackney Homes murder of a 78 year old tenant whilst decanting him????
Owner occupiers of homes on the estates blighted by Hackney Homes can reassure "The Real News" that, according to LBH, Hackney Council is not accountable for the actions of Hackney Homes. Reassuringly responsible, hey?
A spokesman for Hackney Council, which owns Hackney Homes, said: "This is clearly a complex case.
"We await the outcome of any official investigation and will be assisting Hackney Homes in its internal review of this incident."
Jules will insist head will roll. The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) has been informed and the Metropolitan Police's directorate of professional standards is also investigating.
I'm sure that we will be fully exonerated by the enquiry that we will set up and run. Why don't you send all this stuff to Sidney Partacus (see recent post) so he can put it into his book.
I am sure that Cllr Stauber will be shocked to find the JC has married him off to Cllr Sharer's wife...
I've heard of funny goings on in Hackney but that takes the biscuit (or should that be matzo?)
You were right LLFL - I was as shocked as you to discover this typographical error. I phoned the JC and they were very apologetic about it. Apparently they publish so many articles and comments from and about the Sharers (such as this one, this one and this one) that the journalist wrote "Bella" on auto-pilot. They have now recalled all copies of that issue and republished it with the correct name. The waste paper is being recycled - they plan to turn it into papier maché and make dormer window frames with it.
