GMB Backs Loser

South African CND member arrestedPeter Hain, who had been viewed as running at the back of the field, tonight picked up the endorsement of the GMB, one of the largest affiliates, who will now encourage their members to vote for him.

The news caused derision in the betting world, with Ladbrokes adjusting their odds on Hain from 12/1 on Friday to 25/1 today and Betfair adjusting their odds on him from 31/1 on Friday to 43/1 today.

So only a moron would conclude that the Deputy Leadership just got even more difficult to call.

"Stop The 70s Tour". That was his slogan, I recall. Something to do with Black Sabbath, I believe. Oh how the years change a fellow.
