I'd like to publicly thank Hackney Council's courier service man for arriving clutching an envelope full of casework and committee papers at exactly the moment that my son was reaching the final free mini-episode of Postman Pat. Augustus went to bed thinking that Postman Pat had personally visited Flat 1, 8 Beatty Road, London, N16 8EB. The poor man must have been slightly confused to be greeted with shouts of "PAT", "CAT", especially from a child just a few weeks short of his second birthday. Not quite at the 50-word vocabulary target for a child of his age, but then that's what you get for growing up in Hackney. I keep telling Linda to buy some Michael Rosen books, but she will insist on buying him CBeebies DVDs instead. More importantly, Akehurst junior will now grow up thinking that in the age of Gordon Brown and Adam Crozier the post actually arrives on a regular basis at the correct addresses, just like in the Postman Pat stories. An idea we'd better disavow him of before he's three, in case he makes a fool of himself at nursery. |
The fantasy world - Postman Pat prays for an end to the crippling CWU strike in Greendale | The real world - everyone is delighted with Adam Crozier and his service |

And for a vision of Greendale, now the ASBO capital of rural England after 10 years of social breakdown under a Labour Government, try this.
hi my name is Sara from London I am here just to say postman pat theme song should be changed.
instead of "and his black and white cat"-which i personally find racist so i think you should change it to "postman pat and Jessy the cat"
the reason i feel for this is because children may grow-up thinking its alright to name things or call people black or white.
in conclusion i hope you take my thought in to mind Thank-you for your time it is very much appreciated
