Sunday 2 December 2007 Tuesday 4 December 2007 Yes, I did it. One quick phone call to Castle Point CLP and the little error has been corrected. No criminal offence, because any contravention Section 66 of The Electoral Administration Act 2006 was entirely unintentional and has now been remedied. The website is completely legal again. Here's the new bit enlarged so you can read it properly: I'm dead chuffed with my success. And it's not just at Castle Point. I've made quite a few calls and sent quite a few emails recently. I wrote to Peter Hain the other day suggesting that he should review his campaign funding registration with The Electoral Commission. And I called Wendy Alexander to explain to her that although Jersey is a British Crown dependency and a British bailiwick, it's not actually a part of the UK but rather is a separate possession of the Crown. Silly Wendy - her brains were a bit scrambled when she worked as a Research Officer for George Galloway. She thought that Jersey was one of the Shetland Isles. A totally innocent mistake that any one of us could have made. We agreed that it would be best for everybody if Charlie Gordon took the blame for it all and fell on his sword.
It was me who encouraged Councillor Hanson to email Miranda Grell, to explain to her that for an adult man to live with a 39-year old male was not against the law and that the number 39 was not exactly the same as the number 14, but unfortunately the email was intercepted by identify thieves and never arrived. But Hilary did get my email in time, and was able to make a very excellent defence of his position. All in all, it's been a very satisfactory week.

I like the idea that one of these candidates is a "grey surfer". It sounds so much more working class than being described as a "silver surfer".
