Was Peter Hain's "Oscar Nominated" Anti-Terrorism Campaign Plan Leaked By Hilary Clinton Or Shilpa Shetty?

The big story of the weekend as far as I'm concerned was the leaking by someone of Peter Hain's excellent campaign plan for defeating terrorism and for achieving power sharing at last in Northern Ireland. I strongly suspect that it may have been slipped out inadvertently either by Shilpa Shetty or by Hilary Clinton during one of the thousands of interviews that they have been giving over the past few days. The story first broke in the Irish Examiner and the Evening Echo and is now all over the British press and TV channels. What a great story it was - I thought the prospect of a Peter Hain peace deal between Sinn Féin and the DUP was a tale worthy of becoming a blockbuster movie (perhaps starring Hilary Clinton as Michael Collins, with Shilpa Shetty as the love interest) and almost certainly one worthy of Oscar nomination. I hear that stories related to this topic are now amongst the top hits on the web. Apparently, you only have to mention Peter Hain and campaign plan leak in the same sentence to get bags of attention, especially if you mention the Oscars and Guido Fawkes in the same sentence as Peter Hain and the campaign plan leak for some reason that I don't quite understand.

And it seems that Hilary Clinton and Shilpa Shetty have been getting some hits as well, in both cases involving older men trying to hit on them (the former on some sex websites and the latter in the Big Brother house). Oh dear, did I just mention "sex websites" and "Big Brother" in the same sentence? Just an accidental sex website/Big Brother figure of speech. Whatever will slip out next? I'll probably be talking about "lesbian poses" or some other phrase high in the web search tag rankings. Some people with a deal less political responsibility than me publish populist blogs designed to attract superficial and ephemeral readership. I think you know which Tory politicians I'm talking about. The much-admired Luke Akehurst, on the other hand, only publishes carefully thought out political analysis that takes me ages to write. I don't care that my stuff doesn't seem to gets the hits.

That's why I so rarely write about Peter Hain, sex, Hilary Clinton, Shilpa Shetty, sex, terrorism, the IRA, the UDA, Big Brother, sex or gambling casinos. Or indeed about gambling casinos, sex, Big Brother, the UDA, the IRA, terrorism, sex, Shilpa Shetty, Hilary Clinton, sex or Peter Hain. Or Maria Sharapova, or Paris Hilton. After all, it's your integrity that counts (as well as Office Depot, Google Analytics, Freecounters, ShinyStat, EasyCounter, Worldmapping...).
