Don't Be A Silly Billy, Mr Cruddas


Jon Cruddas has got himself some headlines by calling for all the other Deputy Leadership contenders to resign from government. As a result, he has got himself noticed, including this feature in New Statesman, but also made himself look daft.

Actually, there are rather a lot of people out there who think he already looks totally daft and can hardly improve on this.

I mean, look at this video for instance. This is a man with a fly-away collar to outdo that of Stanley Baldwin, dress style modelled on Harold Wilson, specs to rival those of George Brown and an incomprehensible mumbling style of oration reminiscent of the great Michael Foot (on a bad day).
I don't think sensible candidates for Deputy Leader have much to fear from this quarter. Not even my little Hazel.
